Decadence: The First Annual Chocolate Affair in Support of Make-A-Wish Foundation July 19, 2008 By Julia Pronin For any chocolate lover, hearing the words chocolate and buffet is an instant winner. One of Toronto’s hottest clubs, “This is London” is hosting the first annual Chocolate Affair, “Decadence”, in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. At this charity event, you can expect the best of everything chocolate and more! The centre piece will be a chocolate buffet which will feature a chocolate fountain with lots of fruits, Laura Secord chocolates which have been graciously donated by Laura Secord Inc., Candied Apples which have been donated by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, delicious chocolate wafers from Clodhoppers chocolates, and other chocolates and pastries provided by local bakeries. The theme of the event is Children, and making their dreams come true, therefore Decadence will invite you to find your inner-child with delicious chocolate treats and black and hot pink decor, in one of Toronto’s classiest clubs, “This is London.” This Is London will invite you to sit in its luxurious couches and enjoy the Old English feel. This event is for those of you who are of legal age, therefore to give some extra help in relaxing; Decadence will also be featuring free samples of BlackFly Vodka Coolers, a London, Ontario liquor company which has showed its support of Decadence and Make-A-Wish foundation through its sponsorship. If you still want some more alcohol, the bar at This Is London will be offering a selection of specialty drinks which have been created especially for Decadence, and will include a sweet, sour, and of course, a chocolate alcoholic treat. Nothing goes better with Vodka and chocolate than fruits; therefore Booster Juice will also offer you free drinks to accompany the wonderful buffet. Decadence is all about luxury and pampering that comes in the form of food, drinks, and chocolate. To add to the cozy atmosphere of This Is London, Decadence will delight you with great entertainment. Phil Moorhead, a Canadian comedian, will be hosting the event. Joining us on our great night fun and our support of a great cause, will be a speaker from the Make A Wish Foundation. As for entertainment, Decadence will feature great music by an Indie Rock band, entitled Crush Luther. Following Decadence, This is London will invite you to enjoy its club starting at 9:30 with free entrance, which is normally $20. You won’t be leaving Decadence empty handed. At the door, you will receive a gift bag with lots of donated goodies. You will receive Vitamin Water, a magazine, chocolates for you to take home, coupons, and chips. Decadence will also feature a silent auction and a raffle, so bring cash for an opportunity to buy great items, as you help make a child’s dream come true. Decadence will be raffling off Dirty Dancing Tickets and watches. The silent auction will be offering a Toronto Blue Jays package, autographed Hockey Jerseys, a chocolate spa package from the Royal York Spa, massages, and much more. This will truly be a night to remember, so make your dinner a chocolate dinner, and come out to Decadence at This is London. Be there at 6pm on Saturday, July 19th, and dress to impress.
