 Jenny Lewis ACID TONGUE By: Shawn Shapiro Jenny Lewis has seen much success as part of the founding members of independent band RILO KILEY and with her solo album in 2006 (RABBIT FUR COAT). With ACID TONGUE, Jenny has come back to the rock genre that made her a name and brings some hard hitting material to the forefront. Her second solo album is a very strong follow-up to her critically and commercially acclaimed debut. ACID TONGUE features many strong tracks with only few weaker points. BLACK SAND starts the album with a very catchy pop-rock infused track. Not only is it appealing and memorable it is definitely a track that will have you humming and listening over and over. THE NEXT MESSIAH is a little bit harder yet showcases a raw energy of Lewis. The title track is very strong, yet not the strongest piece. The strongest song is definitely SEE FERNANDO. This lively and fun song is Lewis at her pure best. In her second solo outing Jenny Lewis proves she is an artist to be reckoned with and to be listened to! |
